Domaine Ogereau Anjou Villages Rouge le Tailles 2020
The historic heart of the estate is located in Saint Lambert, in the heart of the Layon hills. Their flagship grape variety is of course Chenin Blanc. However, they are fortunate to have old Cabernet vines planted by Francis, Vincent's father and Emmanuel's grandfather. There are therefore here on old Cabernet Franc vines, some of which were planted in the fifties. They produce a red wine full of vigor and freshness expressing the flowery and graphite character of Cabernet Franc on a terroir of schist.
Our tasting note is above, but here is the Wasserman's take: Black cherry color with purple hues. On the nose, red fruits, floral notes of jasmine, peony rose, spices and graphite characteristic of Cabernet on schist. Very structured palate, silky tannins of great finesse. The finish is salivating, carried by a freshness and enegry. Only 2930 bottles produced.
