An intensely aromatic nose of savory dried herbs, red currants and gentle spices. The palate is immediately accessible, driven by cassis and Damson plum alongside accents of marjoram and lavender. Fine, lacy acidity and supple, mouthcoating tannins play a supporting role to the long finish, which is rounded out by beautifully integrated notes of Indian spice box and toasted walnut skins. A quietly spoken, yet sure-footed wine that highlights the elegance Rutherford is capable of.
