Le Pianelle Robino Bramaterra 2019
95+ Vinous Media
"The 2019 Bramaterra Robino emerges from a southeast-facing parcel and was vinified with 100% stems. Dark red cherry, blood orange, mint, spice, amaro herbs and licorice are all dialed up. This is aged in 15HL cask, half of which is bottled for this selection, while the other half is blended into the straight Bramaterra. The 2019 Robino is an exotic, wild, powerful Bramaterra that needs a few years in bottle to be at its finest. There's a ton of Nebbiolo character here."

The “Chiuso Robino” vineyard is a 1.2 ha vineyard in the historic center of Brusnengo right opposite of the winery. The Bramaterra Robino is based on a selection of Nebbiolo grapes complemented by Vespolina and Croatina from the same vineyard all hand picked. Fermentation and macaeration of the full bunches (whole cluster) takes place in Grenier oak vats. The young wine will then be matured for 18 months in a combination of used barrique barrels as well as large Stockinger oak barrels. The Bramaterra is finally kept on bottle for another 24 month before being released to market.
