Compared to the 2021 vintage, the 2020 Saint-Nicolas-de-Bourgueil Les Coutures reveals a more solar, deep bouquet of dark wild berries, cassis, rose petal, licorice and spices. Medium to full-bodied, round and enveloping, it’s layered and lively with a structured, refined tannic frame, good depth at the core and concludes with velvety tannins and a long, delicate finish. It has the potential for aging gracefully over the next decade.
Terroir
Between gravel, clay and limestone, the terroir of La Taille brings a majestic subtlety to this vintage. All of our grapes are harvested by hand and no insecticide is used on our vines, which are around fifty years old.
Winemaking
A truly hand-sewn wine, this vintage is aged for 12 months in demi-muids. A first fermentation, called alcoholic, takes place in vats. Malolactic fermentation takes place in demi-muids and all the yeasts are indigenous.
Made for aging, this wine can easily be consumed in about ten years. A gastronomic cuvée, this red is perfect to accompany a roast pork tenderloin. Open and decant 1 hour before and serve between 14°C and 16°C.
