The Gallica Estate Rose is made the old-fashioned way - whole clusters gently pressed to create the most perfect pink hue. They harvested the Petite Sirah from vines planted in 1953! and Cabernet Sauvignon from our organically farmed Estate Vineyard early in the season to keep the finished wine delightfully dry, crisp, and refreshing. 80% Petite Sirah, 20% Cabernet Sauvignon.
The Gallica Rose has a beautiful light pink hue. It is retrained on the nose, but on the palate has a notes of alpine strawberry, a hint of white chocolate, oolong tea, and a note of savory jump out of the glass. It has an interesting watermelon finish. This wine reflects its winemaker’s touch: light, restrained and elegant. Enjoy the wine at cellar temperature with food to experience the lovely aromatics and complexity of the vintage.
Gallica is nestled St Helena, in the heart of Napa Valley amongst historic vineyards, coastal oaks, its gardens and olives trees. Heritage Petite Sirah and Cabernet Sauvignon surround the winery and are rooted in gravelly Cortina soils ambling off nearby Sulphur Creek. The winery is a handsome barn, contemporary and fresh, standing side by side with weathered vines. Gallica strives to practice lightly touching the land from the tending of their vines, thoughtful winemaking methods, to the simplicity of our packaging, Winemaker Rosemary Cakebread’s vision for a wine of her own, eventually called GALLICA, grew slowly.
Inspired by earlier work at prestigious properties in both Napa Valley and Bordeaux, wines were made and a brand grew. The philosophy is a simple one: to craft elegant single vineyard wines farmed organically which accurately depict the site and the story of each unique vintage.
GALLICA makes Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Grenache, Albariño, Syrah and limited bottlings of estate Cabernet Sauvignon and Petite Sirah. The brand symbol is a tribute to the ancient rose, their aromatics, and enhancement to winemaking.
