The 2020 Barolo Cerretta is a very complete wine in this vintage. Deep and layered, but in the medium-bodied style of the year, the 2020 impresses with its balance and overall harmony. Succulent red cherry fruit, spice, rose petal, mint and dried herbs fill out the layers nicely. The substantial finish is quite attractive. - By Antonio Galloni on November 2023

• Vines planted in 1970, 49 years-old
• Fermentation, which for Cerretta often starts quite slowly, is in open-top wood vats, lasting around 20-30 days with manual punchdowns. Depending on the vintage, up to 5% whole clusters could be used, fairly rare for Nebbiolo.
• After fermentation, macerations continue cappello sommerso for an additional 20-35 days.
• Aging is for around 32 months in large, 1500L or more neutral Slavonian oak botti
