Kamaka Syrah 2021 94VM / ****JLL
'Terroir de Seyssuel'
Domaine Graeme & Julie Bott
IGP Collines Rhodaniennes
92-94 pts Vinous
Dark, shimmering purple. Bright and energetic on the perfumed nose, displaying primary red and blue fruit and floral aromas that take on olive, bacon fat and black pepper notes as the wine stretches out. In a juicy, fruit-driven style, offering appealingly sweet cherry, blueberry and spicecake flavors and suggestions of allspice, licorice and smoky minerals. Finishes very long and youthfully chewy, with gripping tannins and resonating spiciness. - By Josh Raynolds on December 2022
**** JLL
(cask) red robe. The nose shows reduction, plum fruit on the inside with an air of raspberry coulis, carries discreet, rather stylish spicing. The palate carries a floral tone, is well embedded, soft gras on the inside, and a good little chalky mineral line on the finish. It's nicely composed. It ends quite firmly, well. There's a little iron-blood in it, which is typical of Seyssuel. This is very good. It was picked well into October. From 2025.
