From magnum. Well, I as much as I adored the sandy version, this goes the extra yard. Not just a more intense and vital purple, but in the intensity of the bouquet. Not quite so old vines, but not far off. There is a natural harmony through the middle of the palate, then a slightly more austere finish. The Cailloux bottling will need longer to come round. It does not take long to smooth out in the glass, but this is a real vin de garde. Drink from 2027-2040. Tasted: February 2024.
