yellow robe; the nose is calm, has a discreet lemon fruited, low key apricot air, a touch of smoke. The palate is very coherent, has a firm compact content and richness. This can develop on both nose and palate, is a bit pared back in style, a New Wave sort of wine, is efficient, low risk, the finish cool. I would try it in two years’ time, decanting recommended. 12.5% abv
80% Roussanne, 20% Marsanne (early 2010s vineyards) from Les Chassis purchased harvest, 2 day cool decantation, can start fermentation in steel vat, wild yeasts, at 1050 specific gravity into 3-5 year 400-litre oak casks for rest of fermentation, raised 6-8 months, malo blocked
