Our Tasting Note: We have your new Cabernet for the weeknights, this gorgeous Cabernet puinches way over its price for quality and character. Besting many $30-50 cabs we considered for our shop shelf. The palate is sleek, refined, with rich, classic black cherry, cassis and currants that Cali-Cabs are world renowned for! POlished tannins and a long finish close things out nicely!
Winery: Our Cabernet Sauvignon under our Doris label has quickly become a house wine for many. It is a blend of small vineyards from all over Sonoma Valley. These sites are planted amongst live oaks, pines, eucalyptus offering the distinctive fragrance of Sonoma's iconic forests, and it shows in the wine. Plush, textured and juicy without being overly rich - notes of blue fruit float over forest trees.
Sourced from two vineyards: Cabernet Sauvignon from Warm Springs Ranch in Glen Ellen and both Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot from the Pickberry on Sonoma Mountain. Primary fermentation took place in closed-top stainless-steel tanks then transferred to neutral oak barrels for a 20-month rest. All wines age sur-lie and after a clean racking we bottle everything unfiltered. We believe the lees of a wine helps to connect terroir and varietal character.
